Security: a cause for concern say Lifestylers
19 October, 2011
Due to overwhelming interest in their September seminar at the Burswood Entertainment Complex, National Lifestyle Villages (NLV) is again hosting a complimentary ‘Start Really Living’ event closer to home at the Gary Holland Community Centre on Saturday, November 5, from 10.30am to 12pm.
The event will be aimed at removing the common myths surrounding traditional retirement and focus on the positive outcomes of releasing equity and living a comfortable life free from debt.
Representatives including LJ Hooker’s Licensee Principal, Paul Baird-Murray, a Centrelink spokesperson and of course key representatives from National Lifestyle Villages will explain and demonstrate the current property market and financial options and benefits available to those looking for a new, healthier and more relaxed way of living – or seeking to downsize to a lower maintenance lifestyle in a secure and gated community.
A group of volunteer residents, or “Lifestylers” as they’re officially known at the villages, will also join the stage and share their life experiences with the audience during a Q&A forum; a component of the seminar that guests warmly received at the September event.
Helen Swanson from National Lifestyle Villages Vibe - Baldivis will be joining the group and before now never in her wildest dreams thought she’d find herself living in a village community.
“I just assumed I’d live in the same property for the rest of my life,” says Helen who lived in a well-appointed town house overlooking the ocean for around 25 years.
“Circumstantially I had the sell the town house and look at other alternatives and it was my son who encouraged me to consider a National Lifestyle Village,” she continues.
“Coming from the north of Perth, I hardly knew a soul in Baldivis. It was as though someone had dropped me out of a helicopter into a foreign land, but I’m surprised more than anyone at the community network here. It feels like home and I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else,” Helen says.
Security is also high on the agenda of all speakers who during previous lives, found suburban living an increasing concern.
Gail and Daryl Collins who are representing National Lifestyle Villages –Tuart Lakes support these sentiments.
“We are continually travelling and spent 12 months living in Broome at the local caravan park which was a wonderful social and close-knit community. Our safety never felt compromised, which is why we knew Tuart Lakes was the right choice for us,” says Gail.
“It’s ironic because while we were living in Broome, we were in the process of building a big five bedroom home back in Perth on a new housing estate, and mid way through we thought ‘what on earth are we doing?
“There was always the fear of hoons or burglary being an issue because it was a brand new sub-division where we were building,” says Gail.
NLV Group chief executive, Mike Hollett says with the property market stabilised, living at a National Lifestyle Village has never represented better value for money than now.
“It’s the perfect time to get rid of your mortgage, reduce the costs of maintaining your home and upgrade to a better way of life,” says Mike.
Feelings of belonging and the peace of mind associated with the villages’ excellent security attributes has also meant many singles have benefited enormously from living within the popular gated communities.
With National Lifestyle Villages’ Studio Home, entry into the village can start at as low as $99,000. Until December 24, anyone who purchases a Lifestyle Home at selected villages, will go into the draw to win a luxury cruise for two worth $4,000*. (*conditions apply).
Complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided on arrival at the seminar. To register interest in the ‘Start Really Living’ seminar, call 1300 45 55 65 or visit nlv.com.au
The Gary Holland Community Centre is located at 19 Kent Street, Rockingham.
